The Silent Treatment trench coat was introduced as part of a special Fall 2024 drop. Read about its origins and how the material used to create the garment is processed.

The cotton fiber, as well as the entire production process and the final fabric, are GOTS and Fair Trade certified. This means that the cotton seeds can be grown alongside food crops, while crop rotation and soil regeneration are also practiced. The cotton is GMO-free and is not treated with any hazardous chemicals or pesticides. The soil is nurtured and water is conserved. The regenerative cotton plantations from which our cotton originates are located in Uganda, in a region with abundant rainfall.

The fabric manufacturing process, like its cultivation, is also GOTS certified. This ensures that all hazardous chemical substances are prohibited and that all wastewater is treated. The factories are regularly audited to ensure ethical standards are upheld. All chemicals used must meet strict standards and be biodegradable. The fabric is initially processed in Germany and later finished at knitting mills in the Czech Republic, at a factory with a long-standing tradition of textile work.

The resulting fabric contains no harmful or toxic chemicals, carcinogens, etc. This means it is safe for your skin as well as for the seamstresses who sew your clothing.

With this material, we support the local textile industry.

There are several options to extend the life of the product. In addition to gentle care, you can resell the product, exchange it with your partner or resell it.

If the product is in a condition where this is no longer possible, please recycle it. The most ideal way to do this is to cut the garment into narrow strips and take it to a local recycling center. In the case of GOTS certification, it is also possible to use your own home compost.
